My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all.
We're neighbors, and once, we were best friends. But then, one summer, he turned on me and has made it his mission to screw up my life at every opportunity. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to hide from him. I worried about what was around every corner and behind every door.
So I left.
I spent a year studying abroad and bathed in the freedom of life without Jared. Now I'm back to finish up high school and get the hell out of here forever. I'm hoping that after a year of breathing room, he's moved on and forgotten all about me.
But even if he hasn't changed, I have. I'm not interested in avoiding him or turning the other cheek anymore. We're going to go head to head, because neither of us wants to back down.
WOW!! I don't even know where to begin with this book. I started it not thinking that I would be finishing it in one sitting. It was just so amazing that I couldn't put it down.
The love-hate relationship in this novel was out of this world amazeballs! There was so much tension between Tate (Tatum) and Jared but yet it didn't feel forced. The story felt very natural specially since Tate wasn't the kind of girl to whine about her problems. I loved that about her. She really went at things head on with him even after all the things he'd done. And Jared did some really terrible things to her. I loved the whole concept of the Bully creating other Bullies. Not that I condone that but it really makes you think about your actions and the affect it can have on other people. Their relationship progressed so smoothly yet still SO MUCH TENSION!!! I WAS SERIOUSLY DYING THE WHOLE TIME!!! It surprised me since's it a YA book, since their in high school but it feels more like NA to me. This book really out did itself. One one of the best tension filled books I've read. Definitely in the top ten for sure!
All the secondary relationships were honest and real. Her BFF K.C sometimes got on my nerves but I can see what she was doing what she was doing. AND it makes me hope that she gets her own book.
Bully was so enjoyable and addictive! Definitely highly recommend this book!!! So FREAKING GOOD!!! One of my favorite reads so far this year! Go read it!!
