BLOG TOUR: Lovely Vicious Review

**This book contains language, some of which may be unsuitable for younger readers.

**This is the first book in the LOVELY VICIOUS series.

First, I should admit that this book pleasantly surprised me. I didn't expect the quickness or the sass that we get from Isis, and Jack really is a cold character. It worked so well for me that I think most people will enjoy this fresh take on high school romance.

Isis is a real bubble head and I don't mean that like she's an idiot, I mean that you never know what's going to pop out of her mouth. She is so sarcastic that it's downright hilarious! There were times where I was shocked that she would be allowed to say those things and do those things, but then I thought... WHO CARES!! She sure doesn't so let her be her. There are also a lot of references in Lovely Vicious that I enjoyed. Darth Vader for one (huge Star Wars fan..hello I names my dog after a character too). There was no shortage of hilarious dialoug that will make some people love this novel just for that fact.
“Come! Come sit by me. It’s a nice bench. Nice and lovely on the butt.”
“You’re drunk.”
“Yeah, and you’re ugly, but do I complain about it? No! Because I don’t complain about things that I can’t change. That’s called intelligence.”

I have got to tell you. I have finally meet a guy character that doesn't make you swoon. What he does instead is make the whole entire population of East Summit High school fall in love with him. Literally. Don't get me wrong I like Jack. He is different from every other young adult male book character out there and you know deep down they will fall for each other, which is why I love this book. Its a very rough ride for them. I don't want the instant attraction. That gets boring. What we have here is instant hate for each other. They have a full out war going on and its downright cruel and fun! Jack is as cold as ice can get until the truth about his past starts revealing itself. As we start to see glimpses of the softer side of Jack you can't help but root for him.

I hope I'm doing this book justice because it really is different then what you would normally read. It is NOT a fall in love type book. I think it really is more about friendship and the hardships of high school. Isis has to face many obstacles and she literally takes them head on every single time with sarcasm and humor which makes every turn of the page an unexpected adventure. It's a super fun read that will cause you to wonder about the characters when your not reading. It may also make you snort milk out of your nose with laughter, so I warn you to be careful when reading. =)

If you are feeling up for a little bit of a change from the current teen romance then this is the book you want. It's similar to The Duff where is touches on high school appearance and being "ugly" but it's so much more then that. Its super hilarious, with a little bit of edge. Highly recommend you to read if your tired and in a book slump!

Greed Review

By: Fisher Amelie

Gather ‘round, love, because I want you. I want what you have, I want what you don’t have, I want more of what I already have. I want. But if you so much as ask for something in return, go ahead and walk away. Know if you want to play in my world, it’s every man for themselves and the weak become mine. Leeches will be obliterated because I make it my job to destroy them. I protect what’s mine and I take what’s yours…because that’s what I do. I want.

My story will not endear me to you and, frankly, I could care less if it does because I’m in this for the money and nothing else. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a corrupt, money hungry, immoral asshole from Los Angeles. I’m every man’s worst nightmare and every girl’s fantasy.

I’m Spencer Blackwell…And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most coveted guy to the guy no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

"In the light of day, when our adrenaline wears off, we'll discover that all we truly feared was the unknown."

There is so much to say and I just don't know where to start. First, Fisher Amelie is one AMAZING author. The characters she creates are real, troubled but deep down so good at heart that it is such a pleasure whenever you get to read about them. Her first novel in the Seven Deadly series, Vain, was a mind blowing, roller coaster ride that left me breathless for days after. So much the same for the second installment, Greed.

I had no idea Fisher even had another book out until I saw it on the Amazon website and of course I 1-clicked it because I knew it was going to be good. What I got though was so much more then good. I read it in one sitting. I stayed up till 2 in the morning to finish it. I cried. Literally. I also feel in love with everything about Greed so sit tight and listen to why I think this book deserves my "MUST READ" stamp of approval.

Spencer wants everything. He has money to just up and fly to Vegas on a private jet, spend thousands of dollars on one outfit, and waste a hundred thousand dollar bottle of Cognac with just a shrug of his shoulders. You don't really hate Spence at the beginning but you for sure despise him. How could he do such things? You want to slap him in jail and be on your way to let him deal with his problems. When an unexpected surprise shows up, however, to protect the one thing he does love, he packs up and moves far away to a ranch in Montana. What he didn't expect was to literally fall head over heels in love.
"The full sight of her nearly blew me over. I felt this punch in my gut and chest I'd never felt before, not even with Sophie. My hand went to my heart as if I could stop its pounding. This girl was beyond stunning"
Can I please be Cricket? She was an amazing character filled with so much love, life, joy and attitude that I seriously want to be her. She grew up on the ranch and knows everything there is to the ranching lifestyle but she craves more. Being with her childhood crush for so long has found her desire for intimacy a little lacking. From the minute she meets Spencer she if overwhelmed with desire but what to do when already in a serious relationship?? She has to be the good girl and not fall for him so both Spencer and Cricket create walls to protect themselves, but walls are meant to crumble right?

AND BOY DO THEY CRUMBLE GOOD!!! I seriously will rate this book with the best sexually desire I have ever read. For a new adult book at least (not including romance genre). Spencer is hot as all hell and desire just pours of him in waves. I don't think I could ever stand not touching him the way Cricket does. She's got some woman power man. I love that Spencer knew exactly what he wanted and he had the balls enough to fight for it. He never backed down which made every encounter with Cricket filled with passion and longing. So much so that it truly hurt to see the pain that he was going through. He has never felt this way for any one and the only thing he can think of is being with her.
"Just say one tiny word, Cricket. Just one word and I'll have you. I'd be so good to you Cricket," I told her. She groaned deeper and shook her head back and forth against mine. "I'd adore you forever," I promised. "Just one word, Cricket, and we'd be so good together, perfect really. One word," I breather again. I could feel her breaking down. Her face lazily pitched toward mine, imploring me to take her lips with mine, to explore her mouth with mine. I wouldn't budge, though. I need permission. She need to say it. "Cricket," I exhaled. "Jump with me."
The whole forbidden thing cranked the steam factor so high that the book was seriously smoking hot! There are scenes where she's pinned against a stall door and he's begging her for permission to touch her...and it just keeps going on...and its so steamy that I bet I was even blushing. And there's so much more then just that..EVERY SINGLE ENCOUNTER was HOT and it seriously blew my mind how good Fisher made it. So addictive(hence the 2am late night). Spencer is one sexy man and Cricket just fuels his fire. AND Cricket with her grins, body and sassy mouth...I'd be falling all over that too if I was Spence.
"I'm saying that I don't want to be friendly with you, Cricket. I want all of you. I want to be able to taste your lips whenever I feel like it, feel your skin, wrap my arms around your waist. I want to be with you utterly, and I won't take anything else but your entirety."
Steaminess and swooning aside, what I loved the most about Greed was that it's such a beautiful story. I actually did cry. A man trying to find his way and protect those he cares most about. A woman dealing with life tragedies only to fall victim yet again. The whole ranch life is what really sucked me in. Being the animal lover that I am, I was absolutely was enthralled with every part of the ranch. Also, her dog was so sweet and made me laugh with the way he acted. Everyone who worked the ranch were so endearing and accepting of everything that it will really tugged at your heart strings.
"After all, they serve you so loyally. I think they genuinely love you, and they're so protective of you. They do their jobs so instinctually and so exceptionally because that's how God created them."
Overall I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone. URGG!!! I can't say enough how truly awesome it is... So good that I could easily do a CER100 with it (if you don't know what that means check it out HERE). I couldn't put it down, not for one second. I really really really wish that this review convinces you to pick it up because it is so worth to have on your shelf. I would even go out on a limb and say it was one of the best books I have read this year. Truly life altering and heart wrenching and beautiful, and like its predecessors, it will stay with me for a very long time...ITS AWESOME!!! GO READ IT NOW!!!! URRRGGGG SOOO GOOD!.....there...sorry I had to fan girl.....SOOO FREAKING GOOD!!!!!...... ENJOY!

Sound Bites Review

Sound Bites
By: Rachel K. Burke

Renee Evans has a knack for trouble. After walking in on her best friend and boyfriend in bed together, twenty-five year-old Renee flees sunny Los Angeles and her dream job as a music journalist and returns to her hometown of Boston – only to meet Dylan Cavallari, the mysterious, aspiring musician who lives in her apartment building. Dylan’s piercing gaze and womanizing demeanor make him exactly the type of guy that Renee should steer clear of – which is most likely the reason she falls for him. But when Renee’s troublesome ex comes back and threatens to drive her and Dylan apart, Renee is forced to face her past and save her relationship with Dylan before it's too late.

Sound Bites dramatizes what happens when Renee finds herself caught between a painful past and an uncertain future. Happiness turns out to be within her grasp, but it all depends on whether she can trust herself enough to make the right decisions. Sound Bites is a novel about love, friendship, betrayal, forgiveness, and the power of music to help you find your way.

“Love is a funny thing. It's as if you spend your whole life waiting for it, and then, when it finally happens, everything just sort of falls into place. You don't have to question it or second guess it. It just feels... right.”

Renee just got out of a serious relationship after she caught her best friend sleeping with her boyfriend. To try and move on, she moves back to Boston and tries to start her life over. What she didn't expect was the asshole living upstairs.

I really did like this one, but really only for Dylan. He's the asshole with musical talents, but he is also endearing, sweet and mischievous.  His wicked grins with his attitude made me laugh. The first interaction between him and Renee is what hooked me to begin with. Give me a jerk any day! Even if his jerk status doesn't last long because we slowly get to see his walls crumble and see the sensitive, nervous side of him.
“I want to be with someone who understand me, who at least cares enough about me to try to understand.”
I thought Renee was sweet at best. There really is nothing wrong with her I just didn't overly like her. Not saying it's a bad book by any means, it's just not one that I went crazy over. It just missed something. The ending was maybe a little to clean. It all just seem to come together too easily, plus I wanted more details. It was a quick read, like I mean 2 hrs, which is why maybe I didn't become invested in the characters, There just wasn't enough time to fall in love with them.

I have to say however though, that I loved the setting of the book. The whole musician thing is so overly done that I'm hesitant to start this kind of book. I do have to say that Rachel has done a really good job. I really like how Renee wasn't falling over his every move, and showed that she was independent. She didn't go to every one of his shows, cause she knew she didn't have to. She waited at home for him. Also, the other way around, I loved that we got to see Dylan's side. He was extremely nervous about being up on stage and not a cocky asshole like most musicians are. It was a real treat!
“I think trust is an important part of any relationship. but I also think it's something that can be rebuilt if you're willing to work at it.”
Overall it was a good book that I think most people will enjoy, I just could only give it 3 paws because I wasn't addicted to it. Sound Bites has plenty of friendship drama, boy drama, work drama, and really displays what it means to be an adult. I really do think its fantastic and if you like your book with musicians I'll tell you to not pass Sound Bites up, because you will get so much more then that.
