Crash Into You Review

Crash Into You
By: Katie McGarry

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life—that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

'"So I'm assuming I also owe you since you came back for me. "No" he says automatically. "You sacrificed a hell of a lot more for me"'

Katie McGarry is a geniuos when it comes to story telling as we know with Pushing the Limits and Dare You Too. Both mind blowing gems that leave you raw and itching to reread them all over again. Crash Into You is no exception.

Isaiah was always the unwanted fellow. He has gone through hard times with his mother in jail, jumping from foster home to foster home but he finally finds a place where he can see himself. With Noah and Beth. Only when he falls for Beth but then is just tossed aside when she finds her way with another man Isaiah is left to pick up the broken pieces of his heart. The only relief for him is his cars. Tuning, fixing and racing anything with an engine that purrs gives Isaiah the comfort to move on with his life. And that comes in the form of his angel, Rachel.

Isaiah has been the bad boys in the previous books. That bad foster kid who is loyal to a fault and cares passionately about those that deem themselves his family. In Crash Into You we get to see this other side to him that cant help but make you love him even more. He's smart and sassy and total hotness on a stick! Covered with tattoos and buzz cut to go with, he burnt up the pages with his rawness. He shows real strength when other people would have lacked and that to me shows true character. When rich kid Rachel finds her way at a drag race and confronts Isaiah he whole world is turned upside down. He's drawn to her in a way he's never felt before. I absolutely adored Isaiah throughout every situation he had to go through.

The flip side to Isaiah's story is Rachel. And I HAVE to be honest with you. I did not like her and I'm sorry. I thought she a little air head that didn't really fit with Isaiah. She wasn't total bad I will admit. I like that she knew about cars but it didn't really show through in her actions. He brothers all protect her like she's some broken doll which she hates but she doesn't really fight it. I get that her panic attacks were her flaw but I just didn't feel the strength from her as I did with Isaiah. I get that this is the kind of person that he needs but she just lacked to me. I found the she cowered more then really putting herself forward. I really wanted to like her but she just annoyed me. I imagined a strong willed yet timid girl for Isaiah. Someone who would fight him and be completely passionate over him. She put the breaks on every like make-out session they had which just left me feeling cheated.  There were some good parts but I didn't feel the desire. That's just me and how I read it....does NOT mean that it still isn't good.
"'Yes?" I say so softly he may not have heard me. His hand caresses the sensitive spot right below my chin, and with a gentle pressure, Isaiah raises my head until I look into those warm silver eyes. "I like you, too'"
Even though I didn't like Rachel I still loved everything else about Crash Into You. Katie just has a way of writing that is smooth but yet leaves you on the edge of your seat. Drag racing made your heart race and the threat of Eric really made you want to some how help them. We really get to see that Isaiah really does have some loyal friends, even in the new ones that they make. Noah and Beth both proved to be great secondary characters that showed the development of Isaiah from when we first saw him in Pushing The Limits up until now.

Overall I still was completely hooked to this novel. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and I finished it within a day of starting it. Its one of those books that begs you to keep reading and teases you with the thought that you'll be invincible if you stay up late reading it. Rush to the store to pick this one but make sure you read the first 2 books first. You will just enjoy all the characters so much better and appreciate Isaiah so much more!

"It felt too good, almost unearthly, and even though his lips never left hers, she felt the kiss everywhere"

I froze..I stopped breathing.. I took a deep breath..I did a double take... and then I hit request as fast as my mouse could. When I saw Alienated on Netgalley I may have had a little freak out.. This book has been on top of my "Cait-wait-2014" list since I read the description. It also has been already posted on my blog for a waiting on Wednesday post. I seriously I could not wait to get my hands on it and so when I saw the approval email I had to calm myself down before I could read it.. And its a good thing too because this book BLEW MY MIND!!!

Cara is a smart kid who gets accepted into an student exchange program that brings her an alien exchange student to stay with her and her family for a couple months. Yeah its a little more foreign then what we do now. Aelyx may be brave to leave his home planet to "save" both races but his hidden agenda may destroy earth if anyone found out what him and his brethren were up too.

Alienated hooked me right from page one and caused me to stay up till 6 AM. I am currently running on 3 hrs sleep thanks to this book. Cara was such a fun character to read with. She was strong, dependant, loving, caring and just completely down to earth. I don't think you could create a more perfect girl. I loved how she could pull humour from situations, she could still try to kick your ass in a fight but yet she was still timid. One thing that I really loved was that she was comfortable in her own skin. She wasn't a teen trying to find her identity. She knew who she was and when she deemed it fit she could be HOT! A very well rounded character that I felt completely connected with. She was totally
believable in all her actions and her first time meeting Aelyx made me laugh so hard!

Now Aelyx is one fine alien and when I say fine I mean H-A-W-T!!! Okay he is also a little awkward but damn its so freaking cute. He may know all the history of earth but he's still out of the loop when it comes to human girls, earths sayings and all things romantic. While we catch glimpes of his relationships to his "family" you also see the changes in him that causes him to respect his human "family. Cara's family accepts him for who he is and is willing to help him along his way which justifies his guilt for why he's really on earth.
"Heart pounding out of control, she climbed into his lap, straddling his thighs. She wrapped her arms around his neck and claimed his mouth again, feeling his hands on the small of her back pulling her impossibly close."
One thing that really surprised me with this book was Cara's and Aelyx's relationship. I heard great things from other reviews but I really wasn't expecting the smoothness. Its simple. Starting with awkwardness that evolves into friendship that ends up with some steamy romance scenes. And when I mean steamy I mean it was breathtaking. I loved how it felt so raw and so rich while it still gave me the sensation of true desire. Like it literally steamed off the pages. I just..I can't even put to words how unbelievable amazing it was!! Phew I need a fan now just thinking about it!
"In a flash, he rolled her to the floor, knocking the air from her lungs. The weight of his body pressed her into the carpet and felt his heart hammering against her chest while his hands roamed the length of her rib cage. No matter how tightly she wrapped herself around him, it wasn't close enough. He murmured something in another language and reached a hand between them, tearing at the button of her jeans"
*fanning...lots of fanning now!

The story line of Alienated is freaking fantastic. While Aliens are starting to pop up more in teen reads I find this one so refreshing! There\s great explanation on the traditions and ways of life on L'eihr. It gives descriptions that allow you to run with while still feeling not to far fetched. The plot flows nice and smooth which caused me to keep thinking "one more chapter". You won't want to put it down so BE WARNED! You will stay up late reading if you start it at night.
I stamp this book with "MUST READ" because it really makes you want to never put it down. To me that is a well accomplished
book. Its filled with lots of humor, great Sci-Fi fiction and some steamy romance. LOVED IT!! As soon as it releases I will be picking it up so it can sit on my shelf.. You see that cover! It's B-E-A-utiful!

The Redemption of Callie and Kayden Review

The Redemption of Callie and Kayden
By: Jessica Sorenson

The dark secret Kayden has kept hidden for years is out. Worse, he's facing charges for battery. The only way he stands a chance against the charges is if Callie speaks up, something he'll never ask her to do.

Callie knows Kayden is going back to his dark place and desperately wants to save him. But saving him means admitting her secrets aloud. Callie and Kayden are stronger than they think, especially when they're together. Together they move forward, face their demons, and finally start to heal from their traumatic pasts.

"Because I think we are stronger when we're together"

Where to even begin with this book... lets see... I FREAKING LOVED IT!!! When the first book ends with such a cliffhanger you want to pick this next one up as soon as you possibly can. The wait was worth it!!! Filled with real situations, a passionate love story and breathtaking story telling, this book belongs on every ones shelves.
"Before you, there was just pain and emptiness and I really didn't care if I lived or died. I was just there, existing at the surface of the water, not quite drowning but not quite able to breathe. And then you came along and I could finally breathe."
Callie and Kayden have both been hurt. They are both dealing with demons in their past. Its what they decide to do with their life that really shows ones character and worth. And these two characters have it in bundles. They care deeply for each other and both will go out of their way to ensure that each other are safe and happy.
"'You gave me good...I've never had good before.' I placed a soft kiss on her neck and whisper, 'You showed me that it was okay to feel both the good and the bad"
There's a lot of good things about this book that I would love to just write down here but there really is to much. To make this simple its a wonderful novel about two broken people just trying to mend each other. It includes loving laughing friends, harsh stern family, "SAY WHAT!?!" situations, lots of self development, emotions and overall the feeling that you have to fight for what you want. They slowly grow on each other and you and it will completely leave you stunned. Its extremely well written and totally addicting!!

I recommend to anyone who loves a romance. I warn you though that there are dark emotions that show up and may not be appreciated by EVERYONE. Also this book may make you cry!... Just warning.. Its totally amazing and if you haven't already started this series I feel sad cause your totally missing out!!! Just beautiful!

"I want to be with you Callie more than anything"

Wild Cards Review

Received ARC Copy through Net Galley for and honest review.

First, let me start off by saying I have only read one book from Simone Elkeles but it was a gooder!! Don't know why didn't I  continue reading her books but when I saw this one up on Net Galley and I read what the plot was, I was craving for it. I literally giggled like a school girl when I saw I got it.. Don't laugh ..I'm not joking.... Onto review now =)

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! Like I stayed up late reading it.. I loved the girl playing football! I loved the cocky bad boy! It just had everything that I loved in a book (minus it being teen...if you know what I mean*insert big grin here*)

Derek is a bad boy who got kicked out of some prestigious school for doing one to many pranks. Ashtyn is fighting to grow up and prove to everyone that she can succeed and be okay. When these two characters meet holy hell did I laugh. Just the most epic meet that will definitely stay with me for a very long time.

While both characters have a lot going on, and we do get to read from both POV, they both offer to the story. I don't always like it when it switches back and forth, but Simone did it perfectly with this book. When I wanted to read about Derek it was there, and just when I wanted it to switch, it did. Just perfect!

With Ashtyn we see the girl who is trying to fit into a guys world. Football is not easy when it comes to girls but I loved how she fit in with all the guys. Her boyfriend was a dick but he got what was coming to him. Her teammates made me laugh and gave her the guys perspective but she was still well rounded enough to have girlfriends too. Dealing with her sister returning with a stepson that is her age turns her world upside down and she deals with it the best she can, by being a complete and utter bitch to him.

Derek isn't what I would call a true bad boy. He's more of a guy who likes to live and have fun. So he likes to damage school property, its all for a laugh. Alright so he's not the most ideal guy but I tell  you he is totally swoon worthy. Just the things that he does for her, and to the extent he does them just makes me swoon for him =)

THE VERY BEST PART of this book is their freaking conversations. Simone has really outdone her self and has given us the very best bickering and fighting relationship ever. I loved every second they were together because they literally do not like each other and are mean to each other. Not in a cruel sense where their causing tears, but just fighting back and forth for the joy of doing it. This becomes their relationship and my oh my was it fun!

This book is a stay up all night kind of read because you just have to know what is going to happen to them all in the end. There was no clear picture on how things were going to end and you for sure never knew what one was going to say to the other. Just a very entertaining and fun read.

I recommend this book to anyone enjoys teen reads. It definitely one to add to your TBR shelf so get on it right now!!!!
