Top Ten Tuesday

This is my first top ten. My friend told me about it so I'm pretty excited to be involved!!

So thanks to the PEPs over at The Broke and bookish ...

Here is my top ten favorite books....at this moment :)

1) Obsidian - This book is an exciting, witty, page turner that will have you staying up late into the night. The characters are lovable and infuriating but you will fall in love with Daemon (I guarantee it).  It was the first teen alien book I have ever read and darn did it not disappoint. Trust me the fan bass for this book has grown so much since even when I first read it a year ago, it proves just how amazing this book is!!  I became a CER 100 twice with this book (Means I sold over 200 copies in 4 months)

2)  Dark Fever (fever series)  - Its an action packed series that will get you addicted so fast you will be craving to read all 5 books right after each other. Set in Dublin, Ireland, it follows the story of a everyday southern girl trying to find the murderer of her sister. After finding out that she can see Fae, and with the help (sometimes no help) Barrons, she faces a lot of obstacles and over comes them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this series if you LOVE you paranormal fantasy romance. With well written characters and an intriguing plot, it is probably the best series out there... ohhhh Barrons.. he will always be my #1 Book Boyfriend. YUMMY!!!

3) Back To You - A sweet tail of two friends finding their way back to each other. Its beautiful and its also hard to put down once you start. The writing is superb and he has a 4 year old daughter, its just adorable and I know you will love it!! The wonderful thing about this book is the flashbacks to their high school friendship. It adds to the story so well that you see their relationship blossom over two time periods. I loved that!

4) The Sweet Gum Tree -   This book feels like a classic when you read it. Its so well written filled with such human emotion that makes you feel like your really reading a true story. The two main characters fall in love over time and it always felt right. After going through some tough times they slowly find their way back to each other even though it seems everything was keeping them apart. The characters are also so  believable that instantly made me love them! It has that mature feeling with marriage and kids but yet their loving relationship feels like that young new love. Its truly amazing!

5) Pushing The Limits - This teen book is so much more then a teen story. It contains a lot of raw emotions and circumstances that makes you cheer the two main characters on. She may be crazy, and he is trying to get his two brothers back. Two non-trusting people help each other out to get what they want not meaning to find each other and need each other so much. Its a beautiful story, possibly one of the best teen books I've ever read. #2 Dare You Too is even better and I was tempted to put in as part of the top ten but I'll just include it here... Also needs to be read!

6) Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood) -  I know there are a lot of books in this series and it can be intimidating if you have not read one of them yet but jeeze!  If you got balls jump into them right now!! They are freaking amazing! Filled with so much action and so much romance sometimes the two intertwine with each other. Also the thing I love most about these books is the writing. It's FANTASTIC! The humor will make you laugh out loud so many times people may find you crazy if your in public areas (which I don't recommend reading in public because they can get quite steamy - - bar scenes =) ) I warn you though, because there are a lot of books, if you are just starting them they do feel repetitive if you read them right after each other. I have had to wait between books so they feel new to me every time. I recommend that you space them out. Read a different book in between...but damit don't be scared.. PICK THEM UP!

7)  Beautiful Disaster -  I absolutely destroyed this book when I got it. I could not put it down for the life of me. Its a heart throbbing story of what it takes for two people to finally be together. There are a lot of ups and downs to their relationship that makes you feel your riding a roller coaster but its an amazing ride, you'll never want to get off. Its filled with dark situations but also deep consuming love. He would do anything for her! Its a page turner for sure, I would not pass this book up!

8) Wait For You - First I got to say I LOVE CAM. Alright that's off my chest now. Its the beginning of college and what other way to start your first day then literally taking out a guy as your running late for class. Not only are you embarrassed that you ran straight into the guy but the guy is so beautiful hot that it just makes it worse. You know that feeling. But low and behold the day isn't over yet and lets have the guy almost run you over with his huge truck... Believe me this book is amazing. The beginning of their relationship is a little stand offish which I'm sure you can understand why (almost killing each other haha). They slowly fall for each and its in the most perfect way. It feels real. Just so totally real. The reactions are real. The situation is real. Their insecurities feel real. They do what is safe until they can pull each other out of their safe zone. I devoured this book in basically one sitting and as soon as I was done I restarted reading it again cause I felt that I read it too fast and I didn't want to loose them yet. It just THAT good!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

9) The Sea Of Tranquility - WOW! Just wow! When I read this book I did not expect it to be the way it is. Its beautiful and so different from all the other books you read. While she is dealing with a lot of problems she turns to him for comfort. Even if its just sitting in a chair watching him work on furniture, its a soothing effect for both of them that they seem to not want to stop. They have this slow build up to a relationship, it doesn't feel rushed or pushed upon them. They help each other through the hardest things they could go through. Its so empowering and lovable! oh and did I mention that she's mute for like the first half of the book. Its a wonderful story filled with exquisite writing that will leave you craving more!

10) Vain - This is a back ass story. You want to hate her in the beginning of her story because she's a righteous B**** doing cocaine, sleeping with guys, and generally getting whatever she wants. She's basically a disgusting person and you want to hate her but you know books. You know they aren't about hating (for the most part). So we follow this little miss vain girl travel across the world to help out a orphanage where she got sentenced for 6 months (don't get caught with drugs!) Here is where she meets Ian and boy is he different then the other boys she knows. While he is trying to stay away from her they can't help be drawn together. This book has such a heart warming story that I loved it right away. I liked seeing the bad girl get thrown to the wolves. I liked seeing that someone has written about the bad girl and helped her change her life around. Its a perfect story in a very not so perfect world. The children of this book are so beautiful and touching that blew my mind and really opened my eyes to the world. I seriously did a lot of searching after I finished it because it had me really thinking about life and the choices that you make. Its a wonderful story!

Well guys that's my top ten! I hope you enjoy and I really hope you take a look at each book that you haven't read and seek it out. Their all wonderful books that I wouldn't pass up a second reading too =) in some cases 3rd or 4th readings (obsidian, dark fever, wait for you,... the list is endless)

Obsession Review

Obsession
Jennifer l Armentrout

Published: May 31 2013

He’s arrogant, domineering, and... To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something... unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life… or is it Hunter?

We all know how amazing Jennifer Armentrout! When I heard that she was writing an adult book based in the Lux world I may have squealed a little. I'm sure a lot of us did. Well I'll tell you this one did not disappoint!

Hunter is an Arum and no one runs his life. He may technically be working for the DOD but he for sure does not take shit from them. I loved his attitude and the way that he carried himself. I love the cocky assholes and that's what Hunter is.

Serena is just an average girl who just wants to live life and not deal with the murder of her best friend. She also does not want to deal with the jerk face freaky alien dude that is there to protect her.
“Never in my life had I been more frustrated. Go figure it wouldn't be with a human but a freaking alien. At least I now knew that the male species were asses no matter what planet they hailed from.”
The beginning of this book throws you right into the action right away, which is what Jennifer is so good at. It grabs your attention and you need to continue reading to find out what happens next.

Another wonderful thing that Jennifer is good at is making her men swoon worthy. Hunter is this bad boy (literally) that has his own way of dealing with things. Usually with a cocky attitude. He knows what he likes, what he wants, but he doesn't acknowledge it. I loved how the whole time reading this book he was always so against this Arum - Human relationship. Even while hes doing the sweetest things for her he is still yelling at himself inside his head. It was quite entertaining. They had great chemistry and their relationship was so steamy!! Mhmm the whole fighting lust thing is what gets you!

Just like Daemon in obsidian, Hunter is a complete ass. Do we expect him to change? Yeah. Does he? Just a  little. This is one of the reasons why Jennifer is one of my favorite writers. They never loose themselves. Yeah Hunter is an asshole but he stays an asshole throughout the whole book. You can't expect him to change completely for a woman which he doesn't. Sure he becomes tolerable, just for her, which is the way it should be. No turning pussy for him =)
“I smiled then—a big, toothy idiotic smile— and Serena didn't see it. Her eyes were closed, which was good, because I was turning into one big vagina.”
Now Serena was a different story. I found she was so much more timid at the beginning of the story. Hunter seemed to bring out this spitefulness in her that I quite enjoyed. She liked to tell him how it is, yell back at him, and sometimes throw shit at him. It was great!

As always Jennifers writing is filled with a crap ton of humor. Laughing out loud at some parts gets me dirty looks but that's o.k. You know your enjoying a book when you don't care if you look crazy  jumping up and down because you finally got your hands on this book!

I highly recommend this book to anyone 17+ that has read The Lux series. This may be a stand alone book but I believe you get more from the story if you have previously read Obsidian. This book also refreshed my memory on all the rocks/stones that do different things to them. Oh and BTW ... there are characters that you get to see... Beautiful Face... Beautiful Body... Horrible Attitude.... The holy trinity of hot boy!! The most perfect part of the book!!! <3

Stacking Shelves Sunday

Well this was a very exciting week for me.. Crash Into You  Photo cover was released so I believe that has to be added to my shelves!! Cannot wait for this book to get released. Also there are a couple other books that I found while looking around on goodreads.

Let me know if you've read any of these books!
Feedback helps me determine what books to read!!
=)

First, of course, is Crash Into You  By Katie McGarry. Hopefully you have checked out Share The Love for Katie McGarry on my blog already. If not you can see it HERE. The first two books to this series is one of the best written heart felt books in the teen sections. I love them so much! DYING to read Isaiah's story. Like...Just freaking speechless!! I WANT IT NOW!!

Now I have been looking at this book for a while and I'm not going to lie it is just because of the cover. I have not looked at anyone's reviews or anything but you put a girl with a guitar on a cover I will more and likely pick it up. I am country at heart so this book seems to be singing to me?? For those who have read it...  What do you think of it??

I only just found this book, and its not so much the description that made me add to it my TBR list but the reviews. The reviews for this book are amazing and I think I might just bump it up the list!!

Eekk Im excited to read this one!! It sounds so unique and seems to be one of those authors that haven't blown up yet. The reviews on this book is also super amazing but yet it doesn't seem that a whole lot of people have read it yet :( Im moving this one up my TBR list also. I think its one of those books to get you out of a stump because it seems different.

So that's whats stacking my shelves this week. If anyone have any recommendations I gladly will take them =)

Share The Love for Katie McGarry

I just saw the cover today for Katie McGarrys new book Crash Into You, and I decided I had to show her my love before her new book is released. Well WE had to. So Hailey, from Haileys Book Blogand I are gonna give you the low down on the How, Whys, and Whens of the Pushing The Limits series.

*SHARE THE LOVE*
FOR
Katie McGarry

*Applause*
=)

It all started a little while ago. I remember shifting shelves (anyone who has ever worked at a book store knows that when you shift book shelves, this is the time that you do your shopping=)), so while I was moving everything around I came across this lone Pushing The Limits book sitting on the shelf. I read the back cover, was intrigued but I put it back. I added it to my list of books to research and continued on with my day. All the while working, all I could do was think about was this book and when I finally got home I googled it and wow was I surprised by all the amazing reviews. I will admit though, and I am not too sure why, I did not buy it right at that moment. It kind of sat around inside my head for a while. I seriously would walk over to the Pushing The Limits book, pick it up, look at it, set it back, walk away and then continue to think about it...I'm not joking, this happened multiple times and I finally got fed up with myself and I bought it. AND BOY WAS I STUPID!! WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG!! And if you have not read this series yet we will give you reasons why!

Pushing The Limits is one of those book that makes you feel things that you wouldn't even think a teen book could make you feel. I like to use teen for my light reads. Their just for fun and entertainment, their short and simple. I was not expecting this dark, heart breaking, true story that felt more real then anything I've ever read. I completely devoured this book as soon as I picked it up. It grabbed a hold of me and would not let go. With such amazing detailed writing, Katie makes you feel the sorrows that our hero and heroine go through. With these sorrows however comes great love. The kind of love you know will work its way through anything. Its not the most easy love, and it for sure had a lot of obstacles to over come but the end is so worth it. I just fell  in love so hard over each and every character that I will read absolutely anything that Katie will write. The sense of pride I feel over the fact I had the joyful opportunity to read this book proves to me that I need to share this love with everyone. I recommend this book to absolutely ANYONE who loves a well written teen story that you will want to end up fangirling over because that is what will happen... You will fangirl! Eh' Hailey =)

Dare You Too left me speechless. If I thought Pushing The Limits was the winning goal of all books then Dare You Too is the freaking Stanley Cup (Im canadian, this means a lot to me=)) I had always loved Beth, even in Pushing The Limits, but wow did she blow me away in this one. She is so full of life and has just been through so much! Katie just has a way of making you connect with the characters. Beth and I come from completely different backgrounds but darnit I would be her friend! She makes you feel real and alive and that life is too short to not waste around. This book is sooo much more then any teen read, its a eye opener that will leave you breathless. It will leave you feeling so loved and wishing you had a little bottle filled with rain (Awww - cutest thing I have EVER read! Who Agrees?) You will want to never finish this book because the characters will stick with you and they show you that life is not what it seems. And it will teach you to fight for what you deserve!
You can check out my full review that I wrote not too long after reading Dare You To. Find It HERE

The when is NOVEMBER 26 2013!
I am so overly excited for the release of Crash Into You.. Do you see that cover?!!??!?! Even the cover is the most beautiful thing ever!! November can not come soon enough!! Now Katie McGarry, I have special words for you. Thank You! Thank you for doing whatever you do to get these words on paper. Thank you for having this ability to connect to your readings through characters that feel so real. And thank you for finding a publisher to accept them! hehe, just kidding on that last one, kinda. But seriously you are one amazing writer and I really wish everyone can experience the beautiful roller coaster of emotions that your books create. Just truly amazing!
