Bloodfever Review

Bloodfever (Fever #2)
Karen Marie Moning

Interesting Note: I have already read this whole entire series, but I was having a huge craving for Barrons so I decided to reread the series.

WARNING!!
18+ due to fowel language and sexual situiations :)

"I'm in Ireland. When my sister, Alina, was found dead in  a trash filled alley on Dublin's north side, the local police closed her case in record time, so i flew over to see what I could do bout getting justice.
Okay, so maybe I'm not that pure.
What I really came over for was revenge. And now, after everything I've seen, I want it twice as bad."
What a perfect setup for a book. We've already meet Mac in Darkfever (Fever#1) and wow did her life get turned upside down. She begins as a spoiled girl, sunbathing and getting her nails done and then we take her out of the city and plop her in Dublin Ireland where the Fae of the world are getting unleashed.

Mackayla Lane is probably one of my favorite female characters. The way she thinks and the way she acts I just have to applaud her. She such a strong woman and does not put up with shit, she tells it like it is and moves on. But underneath all the strong attitude and bullshit, she's just a girl at heart who loves pink, having her hair all done, and wearing pretty things.
"I want it because it was Alina's dying request that I find it, and I suspect it holds the key to saving our world."
Mackayle, also known as Ms Lane, has a heart for doing the right thing. Thats all she wants. After everything that happened with her sister she is truely just trying to find the murderer. What comes along with that, opens up Mac's world like she could never imagine. Even I couldn't imagine what she has to go through. From the police, to the shades, Mackayla doesn't have it easy around any turn. She always has a battle to fight and in this book she has to go through a hardship that left me feeling like "damn this woman can get through anything" :)

Now.. .. ... The thing about this book series is one specific character that will make your blood boil. In both a good and bad way. He is everything a girl should stay away from but hes also everything that I want... and you will want too!! Hes the strong Alpha male who will take care you when every one else fails. Litterally.

“What are you Barrons?”
“The one who will never let you die, and that’s more, Ms Lane, than anyone in your life has been able to say to you. More than anyone else can do”

He's also the ass who will lie and cheat his way to getting what he wants, even if that means doing the things that you dispise because no body says no to him. Even the shades stay the hell away from him. Even the Master will not go up against him.

He is... the one.... the only......BARRONS!!!!

He is the only male book character that I can say I will fight people to the death over (JK... but thats becasue there will be no fighting cause hes all mine). Barrons shows us the full spectrum of what a male should be. He is so overally protective at times that its down right rude and crude but you know deep down he loves her or at least at this point in the series you hope. You hope because the one thing about this book series is the very slow build up to the relationship between Mac and Barrons. I dont know one book series that can even compare. They hate each other so much, they piss each other off soo much, and there really isnt a whole lote of loving going around.

“I get off on a man with strong moral fiber. The closest Barrons ever gets to fiber is walking down the cereal aisle at the grocery store.”

Litterally. Theres not. But thats one of the best parts. Mac needed to become a self relienant independant woman before she could accept Barrons. Hes just so much man... SO MUCH MAN!!! As you continue to read this series their relationship goes through a lot and GOD!! The sexual tension you could probably cut with a knife! AMAZING!! I do not know how Karen does it!!

“Maybe you need to get a grip on your libido, Barrons!"
"Fuck you, Ms. Lane!"
"You just try. I‘ll kick the shit out of you!"
"You think you could?"
"Bring it on."

He grabbed a fistful of my T-shirt, and dragged me up against him until our noses touched.
"I‘ll bring it on, Ms. Lane. But remember you asked for it. So don‘t even think about trying to tap out on the mat and quit the fight."
"You hear anybody crying Uncle‘ here, Barrons? I don‘t."
"Fine."
"Fine.”

As you could probably tell by my very long rant I throughly love Barrons. He is by far my favorite book character of any series I have every read. I have to give a shout out to Hailey for helping me realize why there is no real Barrons in the world and that is because the world cannot handle what is Barrons. It is true. Yes accept it. Barrons does not exsist on our planet :( Barrons is such an enigma that for one to be real the world could not exsist. Chuck norris has nothing on Barrons :) .. just FYI

Alright, im moving on from Barrons.... mmhmmmm

“I was about to look away when he reached across the seat, touched my jaw with his long, strong, beautiful fingers, and caressed my face.
Being touched by Jericho Barrons with kindness makes you feel like you must be the most special person in the world. It’s like walking up to the biggest, most savage lion in the jungle, lying down, placing your head it its mouth and, rather than taking your life, it licks you and purrs.”
The sub characters also keep this story so very entertaining. Theres V'lane. Ohhh V'lane. He is a prince amoung the fae. A "Death by Sex" fae as Mac would call him. He only pops up a couple times but its enough to change this book from fantasy to romance cause gosh darnit hes hot!! He creates this different aspect when around Mac that it gives this story a "complete" feeling. At least thats what I think. Your never 100 % sure what every one is going to do, if Mac will end up with Barrons or try her hand at V'lane.... Its just all soooo good :)

“Why have you chosen to spare me?”
“I want us to be…what is your word? Friends.”
“Psychotic rapists don’t have friends.”
“I was unaware you were a psychotic rapist or I would not have offered.”
“Ha.” I’d set myself up for that one.”
^^ HEHE ^^ Ohhh V'lane how you bring out the little shitheadness in Mac and yet its sooo entertaining :)

It is in Bloodfever that we meet Dani. Even though she doesnt get a very big part she is instrumental in the development of the rest of the story. She almost feels like a tease to the story. Not like a litteral tease but we just get a small amount of her that makes you keep wondering.... and keep wondering :)

You can ask anyone who has ever read this series what their favorite part is and im sure almost EVERYONE will say EVERYTHING!!. Theres basically nothing you will not like about it. Theres so much to the way Karen writes that makes this series so addicting. And that is what will happen to you. You will get addicted! You will have cravings for more Barrons, for more action, for more humor.. for more of. IT...Its just so good that words cant express how much I love this book and the whole series.

The ending of this book moves so smoothly into the next that it really only feels like your reading one big book. Just broken into parts. I love it! It never gets boring. I thought when I frist read this book that it dragged on but the second time. TOTALLY WRONG!! I dont know how I could have thought that. There was so much humor. I must have my memories all wrong because this book was even better then the second. And I know it just keeps getting better and better. Mac becomes even stronger of a woman. Barrons just... is Barrons and blows me away on every page.

Ive included some of my favorite quotes from the book. If they don't make you smile, laugh or giggle and go out and read this book series my purpose in life will be over :(

I recommend this book to absolutely anyone 18+ .. Even if your not big into paranormal romance type books trust me on this one... this is not a book to pass up. This whole series is off the charts amazing so get off your butt, go read this series, and join this crazy group of Barrons loving and Karen Marie Moning worsphing... You'll thank me when you do :)
