Find You In The Dark Review

Find You In The Dark
A. Meredith Walters
Published: Oct 10 2012

Maggie Young had the market on normal. Normal friends, normal parents, normal grades...normal life.

Until him.

Clayton Reed was running from his past and an army of personal demons that threatened to take him down. He never thought he had a chance at happiness.

Until her.

Maggie thought their love could overcome anything. Clay thought she was all he needed to fix his messy life.
That together, they could face the world.
But the darkness is always waiting.

Sometimes the greatest obstacle to true love is within yourself.

Important Note: I started this book one evening and finished it late into the night.. Filled with fast love and deep connections that feel like you need to continue to read!!

I really really really wanted to love this book unfortunately I just really liked it. But don't let that scare you off because this book is filled with a lot of real life situations that could potentially change a reader. Just wasn't me.
“Hot damn. Cue the violins and happy cartoon bunnies. I was in the middle of a Disney moment. Because this guy was gorgeous. And we were standing so close to each other. If he hadn't been holding onto a barely contained rage directed at yours truly, it could have almost been construed as romantic.”
The great thing about Find You In The Dark is that it hooks its claws into you right away. I basically could not put it down because I cared about what would happen to Clayton. He not only was dealing with shitty parents (they weren't there for him..literally)  but also he had mental issues. This is my first time reading a book that is filled with this type of conflict but I feel like the author did a really good job showing the truth behind what one would have to deal with.

The reason why I only liked this book and not loved it is because of Maggie. She blew me away in the beginning with her lippy mouth and her care free attitude but as the book developed she turned more into a whinny teenager which I despise with a passion. Like most people I'm sure.. Well that is where I draw the line. There were so many times that she could have said something to her friends or even her parents but of course why do something so sensible?!?! Lets just run off and think everything will be okay.. Urrggg!!!

Even with Maggie being as annoying as she was I still was invested into Clayton. He is why I continued on because of what he had to go through. I can understand some of the things that he did and at times you may hate him for it. But you can't really hate him which makes this book good!!
“What is it?" I asked breathlessly.
"I love you so much. Sometimes it hurts."
"I don't want it to hurt, Clay. Our love should make you feel wonderful.”

The plot was a little weary for me cause I felt there wasn't a whole lot of substance. But to tell you the truth I think it is okay for this book. I felt it was all about the characters and the obstacles they have to face every single day. No crazy lives for them just your every day teenager.. well almost...

I recommend this book to anyone who likes a bit of a darker story with mental issues and  watching them come to terms with how to deal with life.

The Sweet Gum Tree Review

The Sweet Gum Tree
Katherine Allred

Reading Time: 1 day

Important Note: I got this book recommended to me by Smitten over at Smittens Book Blog.. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!!
Sweet tea, corn bread, and soup beans—everyday fare for eight-year-old Alix French, the precocious darling of a respected southern family. But nothing was ordinary about the day she met ten-year-old Nick Anderson, a boy from the wrong side of town. Armed with only a tin of bee balm and steely determination, Alix treats the raw evidence of a recent beating that mars his back, an act that changes both of their lives forever.

Through childhood disasters and teenage woes they cling together as friendship turns to love. The future looks rosy until the fateful night when Frank Anderson, Nick's abusive father, is shot to death in his filthy trailer.

Suddenly, Nick is gone—leaving Alix alone, confused and pregnant. For the next fifteen years she wrestles with the pain of Nick's abandonment, a bad marriage, her family and friends. But finally, she's starting to get her life back together. Her divorce is almost final, her business is booming, and she's content if not happy—until the day she looks up and sees Nick standing across the counter. He's back…and he's not alone.

Once again Alix is plunged into turmoil and pain as Nick tries to win her love, something she resists with all her strength. Only one thing might break the protective wall she's built around her emotions—the truth about Frank Anderson's death. But when that truth comes out and those walls crumble, neither Alix nor Nick is prepared for the emotional explosion that could destroy as well as heal.

So where to begin with this book. I think I'll start with I LOVED IT!! I don't think the author could have written a more beautiful story. I'm just in awe. The characters were so beautifully written, story was heart touching and the overall feeling I got left me with warm fuzzies.

Alix at such a young age was always there to save someone and armed with such a simple day to day product Alix begins on a journey of falling madly and deeply in love. Oh Bee Balm =)
“Do you want to know the real reason I came back, Alix?” It was because of you. You’re my roots. Wherever you are would be home to me.”
I am so thrilled and joyful with how this book is written. Its told from the point of view of Alix as if she's telling a story. She's been writing in this journal for years and it felt like a pleasure to know the inner workings of her life. This life she leads was not easy and at some parts I almost cried! Going from being so extremely happy to unimaginable grief was extremely hard! I wanted to cry for Alix and Nick and I cheered them on right from the very beginning. I cannot say it enough of how much I loved this book!
“He was the most gorgeous hunk of male it had ever been my privilege to stare at, and darn his hide, he knew exactly what I was thinking.
His smile turned to a smug grin to so full of satisfaction, that I couldn’t help myself. I laughed.”
One of the most amazing things about this book is the slow build up to the relationship of Alix and Nick. Starting of as friends to slowly blossoming into a beautiful romance filled with passion and warmth I couldn't help feel like every relationship should be like theirs. It was created with such strong emotional connections that to see them go through their hardships ripped my heart apart. Their relationship tested time and other obstacles that to see them prevail was my only goal.

The whole time reading this book left me with such emotional turmoil over what would happen next  had me reeling. How could these two amazing people make such stupid decisions and I mean that in a good way. They did what they thought was right and unfortunately they weren't always right, but it felt to me that what they did was real. For the time that they were living in, they took the path that had me completely and totally believing in them.

“You can’t turn love on and off like a light switch, no matter how hard you try. All you can do is wall it off, one brick at a time, until you’ve created an impenetrable fortress around your emotions. And once that fortress is built, you camouflage it so well that even you can’t see it anymore.”

I was not able to put this book down for the life of me. When I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it. Feeling this strong connection to fictional characters makes me want to spread their story. Please if you love a classic, romance for the ages, please run to the book store or buy it on your e-reader. I promise you will not be disappointed. **Just don't forget to message me so I can please gush about it**. I want to scream at the top of my lungs that this book is one of the most beautiful story I have ever read!! One that will carry on with me for a long time to come. I also probably wont be able to pick up another book for some time. Just want to stay with these characters just a little bit longer :)
“I promise you this. I’ll love you until the day I die even if I have to live without you. And if it’s fifty years from now, you come home, Nick Anderson. Do you hear me? I’ll be waiting on you.”
BTW I am sorry for this review being super gushing but that's what this book did to me. It has turned me into a love sick puppy that makes me want to re-read it again. Share this story with me, you will not regret it!! Just truly amazing!!
“He always was someone. Because the core of the sweet gum tree never changes. Like Nick, the deep red wood stays true to its nature. Strong, and steady, and pure.”

Undeniable Review

Undeniable
Madeline Sheehan

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS BOOK IS FILLED WITH FOUL MOUTH, INCRIMINATED SITUATIONS AND IS NOT FOR EVERYONE! 18+

Interesting Note: I started this book at midnight, and then finished it in the morning. It was extremely hard to put down!!

Warning: This is not a "typical love story". This is an all-consuming, soul-crushing, tear-your-heart-into-pieces story. It’s intense, gritty and raw, dark and disturbing, and it doesn’t happen overnight. This is an epic love story that knows no boundaries and has no time limits. It grows and develops—with hurt, sacrifice, and heartache—over the span of a lifetime.

Eva Fox is the princess of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club. Growing up with bikers in the club lifestyle is all that she knows. When she’s a young girl, Eva meets the reason for her existence. Deuce West is the sexy, biker bad-ass of the Hell’s Horsemen Motorcycle Club. Like Eva, he was born and raised in the club—but that’s where the similarities end. Their first meeting is innocent, but as Eva matures into a woman, their chance reunions evolve into a fit of lust and love. Fate continues to bring them together time and time again, but their twisted journey is filled with pain, betrayal, and bloodshed that could tear them apart. Eva sees in Deuce what he cannot see in himself—a man worthy of love—and Eva spends her lifetime proving to him that her undeniable love is the one thing he can’t live without.

This is Eva and Deuce’s story.

It wasn’t easy.
Nothing worth doing ever is.
And love is worth everything

WOW!! That's all I can really say about this book. It was mind numbing filled with erotic situations, passionate encounters and down right vulgar communication. It was everything terrible and down right bad but it was amazingly good, addicting and incredible!!

Undeniable starts off with completely different way of meeting the two main characters. At a prison. He's 23 and she's 5. But believe me its not creepy.  It basically the basis of their whole relationship. Their roller-coaster relationships hangs on the strings of her pink converses at times.
“I am Preachers little girl. And I'm gonna be just like him when I grow up. I'm gonna have a Fatboy but I want mine to be sparkly and I want a pink helmet with skulls on it. And instead of being the club President, I'm gonna be the club Queen cuz I'm gonna marry the biggest, scariest biker in the whole world and he's gonna let me do whatever I want because he's gonna love me like crazy.”
Eva Fox if the daughter of Preacher, bad ass motorcycle club king, and she has grown up in a world not ideal for any little girl. When she meets Deuce it is not love at first, but it grows into a life size infatuation with the bald head, blue eyed beauty.

As the book flows over events that happen to both Eva and Deuce they are constantly thrown back into each others lives. It takes years for them to finally come together, and it is not pretty. While this book is filled with intense love, its also filled with intense hatred. I've never seen two characters fight as much as them and sometimes not with each other. They live with a bunch of testosterone males who crave a good fight as much as they do a good woman, and damn do they crave both. It blew my mind away with the very "colourful" words they used in every single paragraph. yes every one!
“You respect women, you little f*****' shit. It was a f*****' woman who carried you around in her f*****' body, f*****' birthed you, and f*****' loved you. And it's gonna be a woman who keeps you warm at night, who lets you inside her body, and it's gonna be a woman who carries around your f*****' children. You f*****' respect that, you feel me? You f*****' respect women— all of ‘em— or I will end you.”
This book is filled with everything that others books shy away from. The description isn't lying when it says its gritty and raw. There is sooo much sex, and not even the main characters. There's crime activity that is shown in spades, including the darker side of business filled with death threats and murder. There's the most vulgar descriptions at times that made my jaw drop, BUT IT WORKED! I was hooked!! Also filled with crazy ass people with strange delusions but when it came to down to it, this was the most incredible love story! This book was riveting right till the very last page!!
“I damn well know a good thing when I see it and babe all I’ve ever been able to f*****’ see is you. Not many chances a man has in his lifetime to do right, to earn the love of a good woman, and to get a taste of true freedom. And babe, for me, you’re all f*****’ three. Have been for a good while now.”

There are a couple scenes that may upset some people so I'm just warning you that this book is not for everyone. It definitely has a different voice and some people may be offended by it. Overall though I really did enjoy this book. It was such an incredible raw book that had me staying up all night to find out what crazy ass stunt was going to happen next.

Sweet Peril Review

Sweet Peril
Wendy Higgins

Important Note: I started this novel at 12 at night, thinking I would just read a couple chapters, only to continue reading till 2:30 in the morning!! EEKKK SOOO GOOD!!

GUESS WHAT GUYS!!! KAIDAN ROWE IS BACK IN TOWN AND I AM LOVING IT!!!

If there was one thing that I could pick that would be the very best, extremely amazing outstanding part of this book, his name would be Kaidan Rowe. If you asked me why I wouldn't be able to tell you other then the fact he's sex on a stick..and in this case I mean that literally.

Being the child of all the sins, it is basically their job to cause harm and mayhem through the human world. For some this may be enjoyable, but to others, like our Anna who is pure at heart, she wishes for a different world. Just when they think no one is watching things unravel and reveal the the chaos behind being Nephilim.

I really enjoyed this second book in the Sweet Evil series. I found it to be a fast paced, romance filled, action-packed tale of finding what it means to be "you". While there is no amazing build up to a fight at the end, the story plot created a slow sinful build to what could be mind blowing in the next book.
“Too much was between us, pulling us together at the same time as it pushed us apart. Our need for each other would always be in constant battle with our need to keep the other safe.”
Back to our amazing characters, Kaidan and Anna can not be together. The forbidden love thing is what does me in every time! I want them to end up together so beautifully but yet THEY CANT because they could die!! Urrrgg heart wrenching.. .. oh but wait Wendy doesn't mind giving us a little temptation.. and GOSH DARNIT is that temptation AMAZING!! There's a scene... and they.. but they dont... and Jeeze this is a teen series but wholly hell it was HOTT!!! YES I MEAN H-O-T-T!!!!
“He opened his eyes to reveal the storm within him. "My every instinct is telling me to have my way with you." He was dead serious and my cheeks heated. Fire shone in his eyes and I broke eye contact, burying my face into his cotton-covered chest. "But not nearly as difficult as going all this time without you," he said.”
Now I will admit, because I dont like to sugar coat things, Anna may have gotten on my nerves a little. It was a little frustrating because she was so perfect sometimes and then she was the bad girl. She just was a little topsy turby for me, which does not mean you wont like her. Everything else about this book and the whole series makes up for me being picky. LOL!

And then there's Kopano, who proved to me he deserves some one to fully love him. I've always liked his character, and if I already didn't have a thing for Kaidan, he would be a perfect fit for Anna. Their little relationship kept things entertaining and filled the time gaps when she was away from Kaidan.

The ending of this book is what makes it so beautiful. The cooking was such a sweet touch that it made me grin the whole time (too bad that would not be me in the kitchen lol).

If you haven't already read the first book in this series then you better get your butt to the book store and purchase it because you will not be disappointed . For those who have read Sweet Evil (#1), THEN WHY HAVEN'T YOU READ SWEET PERIL YET!!!  Kaidan is waiting for you.... Ya I thought that would make you move faster!! =)

ENJOY =)

Sweet Evil Review

Sweet Evil
Wendy Higgins

Important Note: This is my second time reading this book. I needed a refresher before I started Sweet Peril. Even my second time through I cant put this book down. Freaking LOVE Kaidan

Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Sweet Evil is one of those books that as soon as you start you are hooked. The writing is so smooth and entertaining but yet it feels so real. Which is a hard thing to do in a paranormal type book but I feel like how the main characters act is parallel with teenage reactions in this type of world.

The two main characters, Anna and Kaidan, I find are such a perfect match. I loved the give and take they do. There's a lot of emotions that run through them when they are together, wither it is lust, hate or just happiness, they feel so comfortable around each other.

Kaidan.... the fangirling begins. I love him as a character. Its so much fun to read about him just because of some of the thing he does. He is so comfortable in his own skin and he has every right to be confident, hes just so swoon worthy!!! On the other hand though he is also quite sensitive and he does care.. far far very deep down he cares :)

“He was smoking hot. As in H-O-T-T, hott. I’d never understood until that moment why girls insisted on adding an extra t. This guy was extra-t-worthy.”
One of the best things about this novel is the story. It may not be a brand new idea but its definately a fresh take on the whole angels and demons thing. These Nephliemare born of Dukes of all the different sins such as; envy, greed and even LUST.. Mhmm son of lust. I wonder who Kaidan is the son of =). The writing includes loads of steamy romance, humor and drinking. Lots and lots of drinking. But there is also the relationship between Anna and her adoptive mother that made me smile. Not everything is perfect in Anna's world but she makes do. Also getting to know her father slowly was quite entertaining. This book is just so fun to read that Im warning  you to not pass it up.

“Dear God!"
"I screamed and buried my face in my pillow.
"What?!" I heard him ask. "Did you see a roach?"
"Why are you naked?!" I did not dare to lift my red face.
"Huh. Is that all?" he asked. "I always sleep in the buff. I don't know how you can stand all that clothing."
"Unbelievable." I said, and without looking at him I pulled myself up and stomped to the bathroom.”

^^ One of the best parts in the book. My first time reading it I laughed to kill myself.. hehe

I recommend this book to anyone who likes their teen books. Its a thrilling book with lots of action and romance with a complete twist on the angel idea we all have in our heads. If I haven't convinced you to read this book then I'm truly sorry. I did not do my job to the best of my abilities......

GO READ THIS BOOK.. IT IS EFFING AMAZING!!!

Im soo stoked to continue this series with Sweet Peril. God Im dying for more!!! Eeeekkk!!!

The Collector Review

The Collector
Victoria Scott

Important Note: I read this book along side Hailey over at Hails Book Reviews

He makes good girls...bad.

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple: weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal-opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:

Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.

Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector…and uncover emotions deeply buried.

Lets just start of by saying that this book took me by surprise  I had no idea that this was how is was gonna be. Like totally different  But different in a good way. It was a complete change from all the other books that I have been reading lately and I specially liked how how the first page was a note from Dante. It made me laugh and grin :)

This is not a story about a beautiful guy and girl falling madly in love. Its not even about a beautiful girl. Its about Dante. Its about his faults as a human being and what he does while changing, all because of an ugly girl.

“My eyes widen at the sight of her. This is the girl Boss Man is after? She looks like a
porcelain doll…beat three times with an ugly stick.”

Some people may not like this book just for the fact that the main girl character goes through changes that shows her maybe as being shallow but I don't see her that way.  I see how she changed Dante to be the better man and I think it's a real moving story.

Onto my favourite part of this book. Dante. I freaking love him. He is so cocky and confident, he freaking made me laugh. He's such a D*** most of the time, like truly he really is. Out of all the teen books I read, and yes this even includes Daemon, I think Dante is the biggest A-Hole. He's starts off so freaking shallow that I was a small bit worried that he wouldn't change. But that was not the case, thankfully, because he turned out to be the guy that Charlie really needed.

“It's not strange seeing her now, even knowing the things I know. I thought maybe it would be, but it's not. To me, she's still just Charlie—lover of Skittles and bed bouncing and scandalous raccoons.”

The collector aspect had me a little wary at first, because some might find it a tad bit cheesy but I over looked that just because I love Dante so much. He kept the story going for me. The story had a really good flow to it, kept me interested all the way through. I was rooting for Charlie the whole way because she was such a sweet character. At times I wanted her to tell Dante to shove it, but in the end.... oh the ending....

At the ending of this book I almost freaking cried even! I loved it a whole freaking bunch and I hope most people give it a chance and pick it up. Its a different book that you would find in teen, but if your looking for that change in pace then defiantly pick The Collector up!!

Real Review

Real
Katy Evans

Interesting Note: I literally only read this book because of the mad review I found by Smitten. You can find her review HERE. THANK YOU!!

A fallen boxer.

A woman with a broken dream.

A competition…

He even makes me forget my name. One night was all it took, and I forgot everything and anything except the sexy fighter in the ring who sets my mind ablaze and my body on fire with wanting…

Remington Tate is the strongest, most confusing man I’ve ever met in my life.

He’s the star of the dangerous underground fighting circuit, and I’m drawn to him as I’ve never been drawn to anything in my life. I forget who I am, what I want, with just one look from him. When he’s near, I need to remind myself that I am strong–but he is stronger. And now it’s my job to keep his body working like a perfect machine, his taut muscles primed and ready to break the bones of his next opponents . . .

But the one he’s most threatening to, now, is me.

I want him. I want him without fear. Without reservations.

If only I knew for sure what it is that he wants from me?

Remington RIPTIDE Tate....Oh what a MAN!! He is basically sex on a stick if you like that cocky bad boy type, WHICH I LOVE!!.. I don't even know what to type here while I stare at the computer screen because he just blew me away.

When we first meet Remy, the chemistry between him and Brooke is mind blowing. I love how she doesn't give in, even though she is totally attracted to him, she can understand it is just attraction...at first. The way he carries himself, the confidence that he portrays drawls her in and slowly her barriers break down and she says to hell with everything. Their relationship does not go as you would thing which I think is why I liked this book so much.

“There he is, a woman's living, breathing fantasy, doing his slow, cocky turn, spiky black hair, darkly tanned chest, dimpled smile-killer smile-all in the package of Remington Tate. He's perfection itself, and a new surge of hormones sweeps through me as I do what the rest of the crowd does and take in his visual, so blatantly on display in those low riding boxing shorts and so strikingly sexy, he becomes the center of my attention. The center. Of my. World.”

How could a man hold so much emotion and hurt inside and yet he still has such a beautiful heart. He is so withdrawn and his way of communicating emotion is through music. There are so many different sides to Remy that I couldn't help but love him and I know you will too. He's the worst of all the bad boys, but yet he's one of the most beautiful characters I've ever had a pleasure reading about.

“You’ll leave me the second it gets too steep, and you’ll leave me with nothing – when I want you like I’ve never wanted anything in life. You’re all I think about, dream about. I get high and low and it’s not about you now, it’s not even about me anymore. I can’t sleep, can’t think, can’t concentrate worth shit anymore and it’s all because I want to be the fucking ‘one’ for you.”

I had herd mostly great reviews for this book and I was soo excited to read it and gosh was I NOT DISAPPOINTED!! It blew my mind away and I want to recommend it to anyone who loves loves loves their bad boys. I'm just telling you this though, this is a book that you should read at home. Work setting I don't recommend just for the fact that holy hell this book is steamy. Definitely one of the most steamy books I've read this year. Its jaw dropping sexual build up leaves you craving more and thinking "when??.. When?? WHEN??..I WANT IT NOW!!"

Such an incredible book, I LOVED it!! Go read it !!

Twisted Perfection Review

Twisted Perfection
Abbi Glines

Interesting Note: I read this book because of my awesome twitter followers recommended it to me.. Thanks Guys!!

Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine

Alright... so where to begin with this book. Please be warned that I really love most of Abbi Glines books and I didn't hate this one, I just didn't love it as much as other people I think. Don't get me wrong I still thoroughly enjoyed it, I just wish there was a little more of a connection.... just saying.. don't hate!! :)

I really loved Della!! Like I really loved her!! She was a lot of fun and carefree even after the life she got dealt. She just wants to experience life and I love that about her. She was inexperienced with all that life has to offer but she grabs with two hands and holds on for dear life. I think that is what I liked most about her. She wasn't afraid to try new things.

On a more darker note, Della has not had it easy. That's even an understatement. Lets just say that this heroine is probably at the top of the list for worst past ever! But even with that she manages to find the fun in life. I thought this was really great just because it was a nice change from all the whinny characters you read about. I know some other characters that would be wallowing in pity for having her past, but she doesn't. She is trying to move on and get passed everything. She may have been running from her past for a while but the fact that she got out there and tried to change her self I really have to applaud her. She gets offer this job unaware of the boss is the guy she may have had a one night stand with. Might have been the best one night stand she ever had and her life is about to get rocked.

“Were you already here?" he asked.
"Yeah."
"Didn't you just bring her home from work two hours ago?"
"Yeah."
Tripp chuckled and shook his head. "Did you even leave?"
"No.”

Woods is kind of a douche bag. And he'd kind of not. I didn't hate him or anything but I for sure was a tiny bit disappointed. I just like my men to have a tad bit more substance. The thing is though is he really isn't a bad character. He was fun and entertaining oh and did I mention that he was down right sexy!!! Like oh hell drop your panties in any truck bed "F*** me now!" kind of hot..... Just saying :)

I did like Woods but his constant "got to be inside her" just got a little tiresome. Don't get me wrong it was hot, and if you like that kind of thing then this is totally for you, I just wanted a little more from their relationship. It felt to me a little shy of 50 shades of grey, which I didn't like. That's just how I felt but I could be completely wrong. This book did have better dirty talk than 50 shades, even if it was a bit cheesy at times.

But then at other times he was a sweetheart and he had all the right things to say. It was very back and forth for me and it just left me a little unsatisfied.
“You're it for me, baby. Just you. You're not going to be your mother. You're special and unique and we're going to get you help. But I will be right by your side the entire time. I'll never leave you. I swear it.”

I will warn you though that there is a major cliff hanger at the end... I was warned of this also but I did not expect to be bam!! Like totally surprised..I liked it.. normally I don't like cliff hangers but this one just happens so out of the blue that I was like... "WHAAAATTT!!".. Done!

Alright so overall I did like this book. I may have stayed up till 2 in the morning reading it so you have to see there is some good quality in it, I just didn't LOVE it.. You know that difference from being CRAZY fangirling, cant get enough, have to keep going till every last word is read to the yeah this is a good book I'm reading. There's a difference, and it can vary between person to person, and this one just fell short for me. That being said I LOVE ABBI GLINES and her character Cage is one of my all time favourites!!

I recommend this book to anyone 17+ (lots of dirty talk and SEX!) who loves a steamy hot romance, one that is created from a one night stand and develops into a roller coaster love story with one crazy cliffhanger.

Bloodfever Review

Bloodfever (Fever #2)
Karen Marie Moning

Interesting Note: I have already read this whole entire series, but I was having a huge craving for Barrons so I decided to reread the series.

WARNING!!
18+ due to fowel language and sexual situiations :)

"I'm in Ireland. When my sister, Alina, was found dead in  a trash filled alley on Dublin's north side, the local police closed her case in record time, so i flew over to see what I could do bout getting justice.
Okay, so maybe I'm not that pure.
What I really came over for was revenge. And now, after everything I've seen, I want it twice as bad."
What a perfect setup for a book. We've already meet Mac in Darkfever (Fever#1) and wow did her life get turned upside down. She begins as a spoiled girl, sunbathing and getting her nails done and then we take her out of the city and plop her in Dublin Ireland where the Fae of the world are getting unleashed.

Mackayla Lane is probably one of my favorite female characters. The way she thinks and the way she acts I just have to applaud her. She such a strong woman and does not put up with shit, she tells it like it is and moves on. But underneath all the strong attitude and bullshit, she's just a girl at heart who loves pink, having her hair all done, and wearing pretty things.
"I want it because it was Alina's dying request that I find it, and I suspect it holds the key to saving our world."
Mackayle, also known as Ms Lane, has a heart for doing the right thing. Thats all she wants. After everything that happened with her sister she is truely just trying to find the murderer. What comes along with that, opens up Mac's world like she could never imagine. Even I couldn't imagine what she has to go through. From the police, to the shades, Mackayla doesn't have it easy around any turn. She always has a battle to fight and in this book she has to go through a hardship that left me feeling like "damn this woman can get through anything" :)

Now.. .. ... The thing about this book series is one specific character that will make your blood boil. In both a good and bad way. He is everything a girl should stay away from but hes also everything that I want... and you will want too!! Hes the strong Alpha male who will take care you when every one else fails. Litterally.

“What are you Barrons?”
“The one who will never let you die, and that’s more, Ms Lane, than anyone in your life has been able to say to you. More than anyone else can do”

He's also the ass who will lie and cheat his way to getting what he wants, even if that means doing the things that you dispise because no body says no to him. Even the shades stay the hell away from him. Even the Master will not go up against him.

He is... the one.... the only......BARRONS!!!!

He is the only male book character that I can say I will fight people to the death over (JK... but thats becasue there will be no fighting cause hes all mine). Barrons shows us the full spectrum of what a male should be. He is so overally protective at times that its down right rude and crude but you know deep down he loves her or at least at this point in the series you hope. You hope because the one thing about this book series is the very slow build up to the relationship between Mac and Barrons. I dont know one book series that can even compare. They hate each other so much, they piss each other off soo much, and there really isnt a whole lote of loving going around.

“I get off on a man with strong moral fiber. The closest Barrons ever gets to fiber is walking down the cereal aisle at the grocery store.”

Litterally. Theres not. But thats one of the best parts. Mac needed to become a self relienant independant woman before she could accept Barrons. Hes just so much man... SO MUCH MAN!!! As you continue to read this series their relationship goes through a lot and GOD!! The sexual tension you could probably cut with a knife! AMAZING!! I do not know how Karen does it!!

“Maybe you need to get a grip on your libido, Barrons!"
"Fuck you, Ms. Lane!"
"You just try. I‘ll kick the shit out of you!"
"You think you could?"
"Bring it on."

He grabbed a fistful of my T-shirt, and dragged me up against him until our noses touched.
"I‘ll bring it on, Ms. Lane. But remember you asked for it. So don‘t even think about trying to tap out on the mat and quit the fight."
"You hear anybody crying Uncle‘ here, Barrons? I don‘t."
"Fine."
"Fine.”

As you could probably tell by my very long rant I throughly love Barrons. He is by far my favorite book character of any series I have every read. I have to give a shout out to Hailey for helping me realize why there is no real Barrons in the world and that is because the world cannot handle what is Barrons. It is true. Yes accept it. Barrons does not exsist on our planet :( Barrons is such an enigma that for one to be real the world could not exsist. Chuck norris has nothing on Barrons :) .. just FYI

Alright, im moving on from Barrons.... mmhmmmm

“I was about to look away when he reached across the seat, touched my jaw with his long, strong, beautiful fingers, and caressed my face.
Being touched by Jericho Barrons with kindness makes you feel like you must be the most special person in the world. It’s like walking up to the biggest, most savage lion in the jungle, lying down, placing your head it its mouth and, rather than taking your life, it licks you and purrs.”
The sub characters also keep this story so very entertaining. Theres V'lane. Ohhh V'lane. He is a prince amoung the fae. A "Death by Sex" fae as Mac would call him. He only pops up a couple times but its enough to change this book from fantasy to romance cause gosh darnit hes hot!! He creates this different aspect when around Mac that it gives this story a "complete" feeling. At least thats what I think. Your never 100 % sure what every one is going to do, if Mac will end up with Barrons or try her hand at V'lane.... Its just all soooo good :)

“Why have you chosen to spare me?”
“I want us to be…what is your word? Friends.”
“Psychotic rapists don’t have friends.”
“I was unaware you were a psychotic rapist or I would not have offered.”
“Ha.” I’d set myself up for that one.”
^^ HEHE ^^ Ohhh V'lane how you bring out the little shitheadness in Mac and yet its sooo entertaining :)

It is in Bloodfever that we meet Dani. Even though she doesnt get a very big part she is instrumental in the development of the rest of the story. She almost feels like a tease to the story. Not like a litteral tease but we just get a small amount of her that makes you keep wondering.... and keep wondering :)

You can ask anyone who has ever read this series what their favorite part is and im sure almost EVERYONE will say EVERYTHING!!. Theres basically nothing you will not like about it. Theres so much to the way Karen writes that makes this series so addicting. And that is what will happen to you. You will get addicted! You will have cravings for more Barrons, for more action, for more humor.. for more of. IT...Its just so good that words cant express how much I love this book and the whole series.

The ending of this book moves so smoothly into the next that it really only feels like your reading one big book. Just broken into parts. I love it! It never gets boring. I thought when I frist read this book that it dragged on but the second time. TOTALLY WRONG!! I dont know how I could have thought that. There was so much humor. I must have my memories all wrong because this book was even better then the second. And I know it just keeps getting better and better. Mac becomes even stronger of a woman. Barrons just... is Barrons and blows me away on every page.

Ive included some of my favorite quotes from the book. If they don't make you smile, laugh or giggle and go out and read this book series my purpose in life will be over :(

I recommend this book to absolutely anyone 18+ .. Even if your not big into paranormal romance type books trust me on this one... this is not a book to pass up. This whole series is off the charts amazing so get off your butt, go read this series, and join this crazy group of Barrons loving and Karen Marie Moning worsphing... You'll thank me when you do :)
