BLOG TOUR: Lovely Vicious Review

**This book contains language, some of which may be unsuitable for younger readers.

**This is the first book in the LOVELY VICIOUS series.

First, I should admit that this book pleasantly surprised me. I didn't expect the quickness or the sass that we get from Isis, and Jack really is a cold character. It worked so well for me that I think most people will enjoy this fresh take on high school romance.

Isis is a real bubble head and I don't mean that like she's an idiot, I mean that you never know what's going to pop out of her mouth. She is so sarcastic that it's downright hilarious! There were times where I was shocked that she would be allowed to say those things and do those things, but then I thought... WHO CARES!! She sure doesn't so let her be her. There are also a lot of references in Lovely Vicious that I enjoyed. Darth Vader for one (huge Star Wars fan..hello I names my dog after a character too). There was no shortage of hilarious dialoug that will make some people love this novel just for that fact.
“Come! Come sit by me. It’s a nice bench. Nice and lovely on the butt.”
“You’re drunk.”
“Yeah, and you’re ugly, but do I complain about it? No! Because I don’t complain about things that I can’t change. That’s called intelligence.”

I have got to tell you. I have finally meet a guy character that doesn't make you swoon. What he does instead is make the whole entire population of East Summit High school fall in love with him. Literally. Don't get me wrong I like Jack. He is different from every other young adult male book character out there and you know deep down they will fall for each other, which is why I love this book. Its a very rough ride for them. I don't want the instant attraction. That gets boring. What we have here is instant hate for each other. They have a full out war going on and its downright cruel and fun! Jack is as cold as ice can get until the truth about his past starts revealing itself. As we start to see glimpses of the softer side of Jack you can't help but root for him.

I hope I'm doing this book justice because it really is different then what you would normally read. It is NOT a fall in love type book. I think it really is more about friendship and the hardships of high school. Isis has to face many obstacles and she literally takes them head on every single time with sarcasm and humor which makes every turn of the page an unexpected adventure. It's a super fun read that will cause you to wonder about the characters when your not reading. It may also make you snort milk out of your nose with laughter, so I warn you to be careful when reading. =)

If you are feeling up for a little bit of a change from the current teen romance then this is the book you want. It's similar to The Duff where is touches on high school appearance and being "ugly" but it's so much more then that. Its super hilarious, with a little bit of edge. Highly recommend you to read if your tired and in a book slump!

Greed Review

By: Fisher Amelie

Gather ‘round, love, because I want you. I want what you have, I want what you don’t have, I want more of what I already have. I want. But if you so much as ask for something in return, go ahead and walk away. Know if you want to play in my world, it’s every man for themselves and the weak become mine. Leeches will be obliterated because I make it my job to destroy them. I protect what’s mine and I take what’s yours…because that’s what I do. I want.

My story will not endear me to you and, frankly, I could care less if it does because I’m in this for the money and nothing else. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a corrupt, money hungry, immoral asshole from Los Angeles. I’m every man’s worst nightmare and every girl’s fantasy.

I’m Spencer Blackwell…And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most coveted guy to the guy no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

"In the light of day, when our adrenaline wears off, we'll discover that all we truly feared was the unknown."

There is so much to say and I just don't know where to start. First, Fisher Amelie is one AMAZING author. The characters she creates are real, troubled but deep down so good at heart that it is such a pleasure whenever you get to read about them. Her first novel in the Seven Deadly series, Vain, was a mind blowing, roller coaster ride that left me breathless for days after. So much the same for the second installment, Greed.

I had no idea Fisher even had another book out until I saw it on the Amazon website and of course I 1-clicked it because I knew it was going to be good. What I got though was so much more then good. I read it in one sitting. I stayed up till 2 in the morning to finish it. I cried. Literally. I also feel in love with everything about Greed so sit tight and listen to why I think this book deserves my "MUST READ" stamp of approval.

Spencer wants everything. He has money to just up and fly to Vegas on a private jet, spend thousands of dollars on one outfit, and waste a hundred thousand dollar bottle of Cognac with just a shrug of his shoulders. You don't really hate Spence at the beginning but you for sure despise him. How could he do such things? You want to slap him in jail and be on your way to let him deal with his problems. When an unexpected surprise shows up, however, to protect the one thing he does love, he packs up and moves far away to a ranch in Montana. What he didn't expect was to literally fall head over heels in love.
"The full sight of her nearly blew me over. I felt this punch in my gut and chest I'd never felt before, not even with Sophie. My hand went to my heart as if I could stop its pounding. This girl was beyond stunning"
Can I please be Cricket? She was an amazing character filled with so much love, life, joy and attitude that I seriously want to be her. She grew up on the ranch and knows everything there is to the ranching lifestyle but she craves more. Being with her childhood crush for so long has found her desire for intimacy a little lacking. From the minute she meets Spencer she if overwhelmed with desire but what to do when already in a serious relationship?? She has to be the good girl and not fall for him so both Spencer and Cricket create walls to protect themselves, but walls are meant to crumble right?

AND BOY DO THEY CRUMBLE GOOD!!! I seriously will rate this book with the best sexually desire I have ever read. For a new adult book at least (not including romance genre). Spencer is hot as all hell and desire just pours of him in waves. I don't think I could ever stand not touching him the way Cricket does. She's got some woman power man. I love that Spencer knew exactly what he wanted and he had the balls enough to fight for it. He never backed down which made every encounter with Cricket filled with passion and longing. So much so that it truly hurt to see the pain that he was going through. He has never felt this way for any one and the only thing he can think of is being with her.
"Just say one tiny word, Cricket. Just one word and I'll have you. I'd be so good to you Cricket," I told her. She groaned deeper and shook her head back and forth against mine. "I'd adore you forever," I promised. "Just one word, Cricket, and we'd be so good together, perfect really. One word," I breather again. I could feel her breaking down. Her face lazily pitched toward mine, imploring me to take her lips with mine, to explore her mouth with mine. I wouldn't budge, though. I need permission. She need to say it. "Cricket," I exhaled. "Jump with me."
The whole forbidden thing cranked the steam factor so high that the book was seriously smoking hot! There are scenes where she's pinned against a stall door and he's begging her for permission to touch her...and it just keeps going on...and its so steamy that I bet I was even blushing. And there's so much more then just that..EVERY SINGLE ENCOUNTER was HOT and it seriously blew my mind how good Fisher made it. So addictive(hence the 2am late night). Spencer is one sexy man and Cricket just fuels his fire. AND Cricket with her grins, body and sassy mouth...I'd be falling all over that too if I was Spence.
"I'm saying that I don't want to be friendly with you, Cricket. I want all of you. I want to be able to taste your lips whenever I feel like it, feel your skin, wrap my arms around your waist. I want to be with you utterly, and I won't take anything else but your entirety."
Steaminess and swooning aside, what I loved the most about Greed was that it's such a beautiful story. I actually did cry. A man trying to find his way and protect those he cares most about. A woman dealing with life tragedies only to fall victim yet again. The whole ranch life is what really sucked me in. Being the animal lover that I am, I was absolutely was enthralled with every part of the ranch. Also, her dog was so sweet and made me laugh with the way he acted. Everyone who worked the ranch were so endearing and accepting of everything that it will really tugged at your heart strings.
"After all, they serve you so loyally. I think they genuinely love you, and they're so protective of you. They do their jobs so instinctually and so exceptionally because that's how God created them."
Overall I highly, HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone. URGG!!! I can't say enough how truly awesome it is... So good that I could easily do a CER100 with it (if you don't know what that means check it out HERE). I couldn't put it down, not for one second. I really really really wish that this review convinces you to pick it up because it is so worth to have on your shelf. I would even go out on a limb and say it was one of the best books I have read this year. Truly life altering and heart wrenching and beautiful, and like its predecessors, it will stay with me for a very long time...ITS AWESOME!!! GO READ IT NOW!!!! URRRGGGG SOOO GOOD!.....there...sorry I had to fan girl.....SOOO FREAKING GOOD!!!!!...... ENJOY!

Sound Bites Review

Sound Bites
By: Rachel K. Burke

Renee Evans has a knack for trouble. After walking in on her best friend and boyfriend in bed together, twenty-five year-old Renee flees sunny Los Angeles and her dream job as a music journalist and returns to her hometown of Boston – only to meet Dylan Cavallari, the mysterious, aspiring musician who lives in her apartment building. Dylan’s piercing gaze and womanizing demeanor make him exactly the type of guy that Renee should steer clear of – which is most likely the reason she falls for him. But when Renee’s troublesome ex comes back and threatens to drive her and Dylan apart, Renee is forced to face her past and save her relationship with Dylan before it's too late.

Sound Bites dramatizes what happens when Renee finds herself caught between a painful past and an uncertain future. Happiness turns out to be within her grasp, but it all depends on whether she can trust herself enough to make the right decisions. Sound Bites is a novel about love, friendship, betrayal, forgiveness, and the power of music to help you find your way.

“Love is a funny thing. It's as if you spend your whole life waiting for it, and then, when it finally happens, everything just sort of falls into place. You don't have to question it or second guess it. It just feels... right.”

Renee just got out of a serious relationship after she caught her best friend sleeping with her boyfriend. To try and move on, she moves back to Boston and tries to start her life over. What she didn't expect was the asshole living upstairs.

I really did like this one, but really only for Dylan. He's the asshole with musical talents, but he is also endearing, sweet and mischievous.  His wicked grins with his attitude made me laugh. The first interaction between him and Renee is what hooked me to begin with. Give me a jerk any day! Even if his jerk status doesn't last long because we slowly get to see his walls crumble and see the sensitive, nervous side of him.
“I want to be with someone who understand me, who at least cares enough about me to try to understand.”
I thought Renee was sweet at best. There really is nothing wrong with her I just didn't overly like her. Not saying it's a bad book by any means, it's just not one that I went crazy over. It just missed something. The ending was maybe a little to clean. It all just seem to come together too easily, plus I wanted more details. It was a quick read, like I mean 2 hrs, which is why maybe I didn't become invested in the characters, There just wasn't enough time to fall in love with them.

I have to say however though, that I loved the setting of the book. The whole musician thing is so overly done that I'm hesitant to start this kind of book. I do have to say that Rachel has done a really good job. I really like how Renee wasn't falling over his every move, and showed that she was independent. She didn't go to every one of his shows, cause she knew she didn't have to. She waited at home for him. Also, the other way around, I loved that we got to see Dylan's side. He was extremely nervous about being up on stage and not a cocky asshole like most musicians are. It was a real treat!
“I think trust is an important part of any relationship. but I also think it's something that can be rebuilt if you're willing to work at it.”
Overall it was a good book that I think most people will enjoy, I just could only give it 3 paws because I wasn't addicted to it. Sound Bites has plenty of friendship drama, boy drama, work drama, and really displays what it means to be an adult. I really do think its fantastic and if you like your book with musicians I'll tell you to not pass Sound Bites up, because you will get so much more then that.

BLOG TOUR: Still Human by Kerry Heavens

If you would like to see what I thought of Being Human, first book in the series, you can find it HERE

When we last saw Liv and Danny they were headed to splitzville. Danny "cheated" according to Liv and Liv got cold feet according to Danny. Both were unwilling to throw their hearts out into the mix to find out what could be wrong. Instead both head their separate ways and that is where Still Human Begins.

Liv is absolutely heart broken over Danny which I could actually agree with. If I saw what she saw I would be doing the same thing. Trying to get over him but with their history, that is not possible. Unplugging herself from his world, she believes she is too weak to even speak with him because she's scared that she will get her heart trampled on. Which again I agree with. What I don't agree with is DUH!! Its Danny.. He's the most wonderful and thoughtful guy you could ever meet! He would never do anything to hurt her and I think she may have over reacted just a tad. I did love how her controlling nature was muted. When Liv is faced with the situation of having to depend on others she learns that its really not so bad to need others. Liv really grew into someone who is still naturally independent but learns to ask for help when she needs it. Walking around with crutches will do that to a person ;)

Oh Danny boy! I would like to say I don't know how Kerry was able to create such an amazing man but I can't. Its all written in his actions that prove what an outstanding and incredible loving character Kerry made him to be. He know's Liv to her core and he will not give up on her. Even when she is being stubborn and hard headed, he is the only one who can get through to her. I just love Danny so much! He's sexy, thoughtful, caring, fun, relaxed, hardworking, sincere and down right human. He has flaws that keep him away from Liv in the beginning but deep down he tries to be the best for her.  Over and over he puts himself out there to show how much he loves his girl, which caused some major swooning!!! Love Danny <3<3
"Like this tree, we stumbled and fell, but something so strong cannot be wiped out in one moment. You are always rooted here with me and together we are too strong to fade away."

This book is an amazing conclusion to the first book. It was loving and sweet and very faced past. I finished within a couple hours because I had to find out how their story was going to end. It was cute and really made me want to cry in some parts. They have a wonderful friend to couple relationship that shows that beginning as friends first an foremost creates a very strong bond that can weather any storm.

I recommend Still Human to anyone that loves a contemporary romance novel. Its sweet and loving that will leave a smile on your face for days after. It may not be filled with a lot of action but sometimes those kind of books are not needed. Just a loving relationship, laugh out loud friends and family to get you through the hard times. This book has all of it!

Lady Thief Review

ARC copy given by Net Galley in exchange for an honest review

So I have always had a thing for Robin Hood and I will admit I LOVED the BBC version that was on TV for 3 season(Only 3!!). My pictures are mostly of those characters just because those are exactly how I picture Maid Marian, Robin and Guy along with the rest of the characters. Enjoy the review!

"Your power, your great gift, is that you never give up. When something fails you make a new plan, and another, and another. You never accept defeat. You never give up"

Lady Thief was a fast paced, emotion filled adventure that left me completely breathless. I don't think I have ever read a sequel that was just so much more amazing then the first. And Scarlet was so amazing that it was hard to top, but this one does it.

Scarlet (Scar) has married Guy but is still deeply in love with Robin Hood. I just love that their love is so deep and meaningful but in those times, one didn't disgrace in front of Gods eyes. Nothing could ever happen between them, until their marriage is annulled. Here is where the twists, turns and mystery comes in. Gisborne creates a way out for Lady Marian(Scar) that gives her only one choice. Do anything that Gisborne says and show everyone that she is his wife. When a tournament offers Robin a chance to become Sheriff everything soon gets thrown out and war is brewing.

I completely adored absolutely everything about this book. When novels are set in a time where things were just simpler but the times are harder, I fall right in love. When I finished Scarlet (#1) I didn't even realize there was going to be another in the series. Low and behold, this beautiful gem came along. Its filled with lots of action, twists and turns and cunningness. There is never a dull moment with twist that left my head spinning. The ending came up on me with a slap in the face!! Seriously how could it end like that!!! URGGG... I need the next one ASAP just to keep my mind from spinning away.
"'I'll make it right, Rob. I'll get the annulment and then I can kiss you in public. All day long. Till the village wives wring their hands at us.'
He smiled, leaning into my hand. "We've always been good at creating a bit of chaos""
My favourite part in this sequel is the quick little scenes with Scar and Robin. The two are so deeply in love with each other that to see them apart is painful. They are understanding of each other and they truly desire what is best for their people. The love they share burns so bright off the page that it will leave you wanting to have their kind of love. One that is deep, unconditional and will last through anything. Literarily, they have to go through everything!! While this book contains no sex, there are hints and meanings behind words that really is so much better then the act itself. There is also a couple darker scenes that may not fair well with some. Just keep in mind that when there is unnecessary evil there is always undoubtedly good there to combat.
"Hurt me if you want, but I've felt pain. I know what pain is. And it's less than love, than loyalty, than hope."
Overall, I give Lady Thief my "MUST READ" stamp of approval. There is something so unique about this series that I think everyone will enjoy.  Filled with caring friends, mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and love that surpasses the ages, Lady Thief has everything that a book could ever need to be AMAZING!

Crash Into You Review

Crash Into You
By: Katie McGarry

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life—that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

'"So I'm assuming I also owe you since you came back for me. "No" he says automatically. "You sacrificed a hell of a lot more for me"'

Katie McGarry is a geniuos when it comes to story telling as we know with Pushing the Limits and Dare You Too. Both mind blowing gems that leave you raw and itching to reread them all over again. Crash Into You is no exception.

Isaiah was always the unwanted fellow. He has gone through hard times with his mother in jail, jumping from foster home to foster home but he finally finds a place where he can see himself. With Noah and Beth. Only when he falls for Beth but then is just tossed aside when she finds her way with another man Isaiah is left to pick up the broken pieces of his heart. The only relief for him is his cars. Tuning, fixing and racing anything with an engine that purrs gives Isaiah the comfort to move on with his life. And that comes in the form of his angel, Rachel.

Isaiah has been the bad boys in the previous books. That bad foster kid who is loyal to a fault and cares passionately about those that deem themselves his family. In Crash Into You we get to see this other side to him that cant help but make you love him even more. He's smart and sassy and total hotness on a stick! Covered with tattoos and buzz cut to go with, he burnt up the pages with his rawness. He shows real strength when other people would have lacked and that to me shows true character. When rich kid Rachel finds her way at a drag race and confronts Isaiah he whole world is turned upside down. He's drawn to her in a way he's never felt before. I absolutely adored Isaiah throughout every situation he had to go through.

The flip side to Isaiah's story is Rachel. And I HAVE to be honest with you. I did not like her and I'm sorry. I thought she a little air head that didn't really fit with Isaiah. She wasn't total bad I will admit. I like that she knew about cars but it didn't really show through in her actions. He brothers all protect her like she's some broken doll which she hates but she doesn't really fight it. I get that her panic attacks were her flaw but I just didn't feel the strength from her as I did with Isaiah. I get that this is the kind of person that he needs but she just lacked to me. I found the she cowered more then really putting herself forward. I really wanted to like her but she just annoyed me. I imagined a strong willed yet timid girl for Isaiah. Someone who would fight him and be completely passionate over him. She put the breaks on every like make-out session they had which just left me feeling cheated.  There were some good parts but I didn't feel the desire. That's just me and how I read it....does NOT mean that it still isn't good.
"'Yes?" I say so softly he may not have heard me. His hand caresses the sensitive spot right below my chin, and with a gentle pressure, Isaiah raises my head until I look into those warm silver eyes. "I like you, too'"
Even though I didn't like Rachel I still loved everything else about Crash Into You. Katie just has a way of writing that is smooth but yet leaves you on the edge of your seat. Drag racing made your heart race and the threat of Eric really made you want to some how help them. We really get to see that Isaiah really does have some loyal friends, even in the new ones that they make. Noah and Beth both proved to be great secondary characters that showed the development of Isaiah from when we first saw him in Pushing The Limits up until now.

Overall I still was completely hooked to this novel. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and I finished it within a day of starting it. Its one of those books that begs you to keep reading and teases you with the thought that you'll be invincible if you stay up late reading it. Rush to the store to pick this one but make sure you read the first 2 books first. You will just enjoy all the characters so much better and appreciate Isaiah so much more!

*eARC copy supplied by Netgalley for an honest review

"It felt too good, almost unearthly, and even though his lips never left hers, she felt the kiss everywhere"

I froze..I stopped breathing.. I took a deep breath..I did a double take... and then I hit request as fast as my mouse could. When I saw Alienated on Netgalley I may have had a little freak out.. This book has been on top of my "Cait-wait-2014" list since I read the description. It also has been already posted on my blog for a waiting on Wednesday post. I seriously I could not wait to get my hands on it and so when I saw the approval email I had to calm myself down before I could read it.. And its a good thing too because this book BLEW MY MIND!!!

Cara is a smart kid who gets accepted into an student exchange program that brings her an alien exchange student to stay with her and her family for a couple months. Yeah its a little more foreign then what we do now. Aelyx may be brave to leave his home planet to "save" both races but his hidden agenda may destroy earth if anyone found out what him and his brethren were up too.

Alienated hooked me right from page one and caused me to stay up till 6 AM. I am currently running on 3 hrs sleep thanks to this book. Cara was such a fun character to read with. She was strong, dependant, loving, caring and just completely down to earth. I don't think you could create a more perfect girl. I loved how she could pull humour from situations, she could still try to kick your ass in a fight but yet she was still timid. One thing that I really loved was that she was comfortable in her own skin. She wasn't a teen trying to find her identity. She knew who she was and when she deemed it fit she could be HOT! A very well rounded character that I felt completely connected with. She was totally
believable in all her actions and her first time meeting Aelyx made me laugh so hard!

Now Aelyx is one fine alien and when I say fine I mean H-A-W-T!!! Okay he is also a little awkward but damn its so freaking cute. He may know all the history of earth but he's still out of the loop when it comes to human girls, earths sayings and all things romantic. While we catch glimpes of his relationships to his "family" you also see the changes in him that causes him to respect his human "family. Cara's family accepts him for who he is and is willing to help him along his way which justifies his guilt for why he's really on earth.
"Heart pounding out of control, she climbed into his lap, straddling his thighs. She wrapped her arms around his neck and claimed his mouth again, feeling his hands on the small of her back pulling her impossibly close."
One thing that really surprised me with this book was Cara's and Aelyx's relationship. I heard great things from other reviews but I really wasn't expecting the smoothness. Its simple. Starting with awkwardness that evolves into friendship that ends up with some steamy romance scenes. And when I mean steamy I mean it was breathtaking. I loved how it felt so raw and so rich while it still gave me the sensation of true desire. Like it literally steamed off the pages. I just..I can't even put to words how unbelievable amazing it was!! Phew I need a fan now just thinking about it!
"In a flash, he rolled her to the floor, knocking the air from her lungs. The weight of his body pressed her into the carpet and felt his heart hammering against her chest while his hands roamed the length of her rib cage. No matter how tightly she wrapped herself around him, it wasn't close enough. He murmured something in another language and reached a hand between them, tearing at the button of her jeans"
*fanning...lots of fanning now!

The story line of Alienated is freaking fantastic. While Aliens are starting to pop up more in teen reads I find this one so refreshing! There\s great explanation on the traditions and ways of life on L'eihr. It gives descriptions that allow you to run with while still feeling not to far fetched. The plot flows nice and smooth which caused me to keep thinking "one more chapter". You won't want to put it down so BE WARNED! You will stay up late reading if you start it at night.
I stamp this book with "MUST READ" because it really makes you want to never put it down. To me that is a well accomplished
book. Its filled with lots of humor, great Sci-Fi fiction and some steamy romance. LOVED IT!! As soon as it releases I will be picking it up so it can sit on my shelf.. You see that cover! It's B-E-A-utiful!
